For the first time in Australian music history the inaugural Australian Women in Music Awards (AWMA) turned the spotlight on women, recognising first nations and multicultural performers, focusing on excellence in artistry, technical and production skills, cross-cultural development, songwriting, music education, music photography, and humanitarian work.

With a swathe of Australian artists on board as patrons and advisors, including Isabella Manfredi (The Preatures), Christine Anu, Katie Noonan, Clare Bowditch, and Jenny Morris, the awards had substance from the outset.

I was enlisted to create the visual identity for the awards, as well as design and develop a website. My brief for the identity was to create a look that was iconic, strong and inspirational, with a clear sense of occasion. I achieved this through bold typography, a sense of movement in the logo, and a simple black and gold palette. The website I designed and built followed this aesthetic and included accents of gold leaf. The site was created to be easy to use for both visitors, and the team managing the updates.
