Sirens Big Band

I was commissioned by Sirens Big Band to create the branding for Bridge of Dreams, a pioneering intercultural collaboration between the 17-piece Sirens, Saxophonist Sandy Evans and eminanent Indian musicians.  Composed and recorded across two continents, and culminating in a fiery sell-out show at Sydney Festival in January 2019, the project is an exchange of ideas arising from the dialogue between Australian jazz and the rich Indian musical palette.

The hero graphic I illustrated was used as a repeating device across the website, Sydney Festival marketing, socials and the album cover. Surreal in composition, the whales represent the coming together of two very different worlds.

The show won Performance of the Year in the 2020 APRA/AMCOS Art Music Awards.

“The surreal whales represent the bridging of two very different worlds.
