Georgia Mooney

I was commissioned by ARIA-nominated artist Georgia Mooney to craft the artwork for her debut solo album, Full of Moon. This year-long creative journey began with a series of singles and culminated in the full album’s release across physical and digital formats.

For this project, I leaned into my passion for historical design, collaborating closely with Georgia to bring her vision of vintage Hollywood glamour to life. Drawing inspiration from the typography and photography treatment styles of the 1920s through the 1970s, I delved deep into the aesthetics of each era, translating them into evocative artworks.

The final designs include vintage-inspired posters reminiscent of old Hollywood film promotions, an animated video that nods to the elegance of the cinemagraph,  era-specific single cover artworks. and an album cover featuring a surreal highway motel sign on the surface of the moon.

Iconic photography is by Maximum Person and Cybele Malinowski.

THE VINYL

The hero is the vinyl, with front and back covers evoking the glamour of vintage Hollywood, while the promo video is a nod to cinemagraphs.

OTHER ALBUM RELEASE ASSETS

CDs and vintage posters

The CD design (hopefully someone out there still has a CD player to enjoy this one on) mirrors the vinyl artwork while the album preview party invite was designed to look like a vintage Hollywood movie poster.

THE SINGLE RELEASES

Nods to the eras of 20th century design

From the 1920s through to the 1970s, each single release from the album references a different era of 20th century design in both typography and photography treatment. The War Romance music video promo poster, featuring Australian TV presenter Rhys Nicholson as Georgia Mooney, was designed this to look like a 1940s wartime film poster, while the single artwork mirrors this with its typography and treated hero image.
