I was commissioned by Adobe to illustrate a letter from the LGBTQIA+ acronym as part of Pride Month 2019. My illustration had to be in tones of green to represent nature in the rainbow flag, and needed to communicate what nature means to the queer community.  

To me nature is inherently queer! All the wildly flamboyant furred, feathered, and finned creatures – which are so often reflected in the creativity of the queer community – do not judge us the way humans sometimes do. And just like the sanctuary of the queer community, within nature we are free to be ourselves; the tree that shades us, the flower that blooms, the pets that look at us adoringly – none of these beings conceive of us as separate from them. Because we’re not. We are ALL part of this very diverse, interrelated, and connected natural world.
