Animated music video for childrens’ musician, Ian Williams. I was inspired by the vintage platform and continuous scroll games of my childhood and teen years (like Sonic the Hedgehog and Mario Brothers) for this animation, and used digital collage to create an interesting parallax world.
Starting in a vintage-inspired sepia lounge room, the camera pans into a TV screen, where the focus in on a pink elephant who travels through a colourful streetscape, peppered with Monty Python-esque features.
I collated a selection of quirky and unique buildings, sourced from photography of Route 66, and recoloured them in Miami-inspired hues to make the elephant’s journey visually interesting for young children.
